InStyle: See Robert Pattinson Before He Was Edward Cullen

The Twilight cast has reunited on the Vancouver set of New Moon, but we've still got seven months until we get to see the finished product. While you're waiting, check out Robert Pattinson in the indie drama How To Be, which will be available on demand on IFC Festival Direct starting April 29th. The film, shot before Pattinson scored the part of Edward Cullen, is also making the rounds at smaller film festivals around the country. I know what you're thinking, but don't bother camping outside your local theater hoping to catch a glimpse of your favorite vampire, he's not scheduled to attend any of the premieres.

In How To Be he plays Art, a self described "passive depressive" misfit who's just been dumped by his girlfriend, fired from his job and forced to move back in with his parents. And since his character dreams of becoming a serious musician, you'll get to hear Pattinson perform three songs in the flick.

Pattinson also stars as famed artist Salvador Dali in the British made drama Little Ashes, which hits theaters in limited release on May 8. This movie is definitely not for his younger fans, but the actor has said that he looks forward to gaining a new fan base of moviegoers who have never--gasp!--seen Twilight.--Bronwyn Barnes
